When you fill in the form on the contact page, we process your name, email address, your question and - if you fill it in - your phone number. That data is used to answer your question, and for nothing else.

The message is delivered as an email to Kris Rayen’s mailbox through our email service provider Resend. Nothing is stored in a database on this website. The email stays in that mailbox for as long as the question or the contact is relevant, and is deleted afterwards.

The legal basis is your consent, and in the case of an ongoing or intended engagement, the performance of the contract.

We measure how many people visit the site and which pages they read, using Vercel Web Analytics. That measurement works without personal profiles: no visitors are tracked across different sites or over time, and no advertising identifier is built up. We also measure two actions without personal data: whether the contact form was sent, and whether the brand film was played.

This site deliberately uses no Google Analytics and no product analytics with user profiles.

The site sets one cookie of its own, and only if you ask for it: if you visit factter.be/?exclude-me=1, we remember in your browser that your visits should not be counted in the statistics. You reverse that choice through factter.be/?include-me=1. The cookie contains no personal data.

Within an engagement we sometimes use an employee survey, such as the Werkmeter. Those surveys run outside this website, in the environment of the provider of the instrument. Answers are processed anonymously and reported only at group level: neither we nor the client get sight of what an individual employee answered.

At the start of such a survey we set out in writing, per engagement, who processes which data, for what purpose and for how long. Ask for it if you want to see those arrangements before you take part.

The brand film on the home page and on the about page is not stored by us but by Cloudinary, a video provider. The still image you see before you press play comes from their servers and loads as soon as the page opens. Cloudinary receives your IP address and the data your browser sends by default, just as it does for any image that comes from another website.

The film itself is only fetched when you press play; until then not a single video byte is downloaded. The fact that you started the film is counted as an action in the visitor statistics, without any data about you.

The “Plan a conversation” button takes you to a booking page hosted by Cal.com. That page is not part of this website: you leave factter.be, and whatever you fill in there, you fill in with Cal.com. Nothing of yours is loaded or stored on this site as long as you do not click.

If you pick a slot there, you pass on your name, your email address and the reason for the meeting. That data ends up in Kris Rayen’s calendar and serves to make and prepare the appointment. Cal.com processes it on our instructions.

We do not sell data and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. We do work with service providers that make the site and the email technically possible: Vercel for hosting and statistics, Resend for sending form mail, Cloudinary for video playback, Cal.com for scheduling meetings, and Microsoft 365 for the mailbox. They process data solely on our instructions.

You have the right to ask which data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to the processing, and to withdraw your consent. One email is enough; we answer within a month.

If you disagree with how we handle that, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.

If anything changes about what we process or about the services we use for it, we update this page and the date at the top moves with it.
